These recommendations are intended for the kittens from our cattery, but perhaps they may also be suitable for others. Every breeder has their own rules and observations, and opinions often differ. Everyone knows that what suits some cats may be completely unsuitable for others. I have become convinced of this through my own experience — I have cats from different catteries, from different parts of the world. And quite often, breeders give completely different advice to the very same question.

That is precisely why the recommendations of the breeder of the cattery your cat came from are especially valuable. After all, they know their animals’ lines, health characteristics and care requirements best.

❗ It is important to understand: these are only recommendations, not strict rules or universal instructions. Listen, try, and observe your cat.

Usually, future owners immediately buy everything necessary for the kitten: a house or a little hideaway, a scratching post, food, bowls, a carrier, and a litter box with litter. And almost always, questions arise: “Which litter is best?”, “What food do you use?”, “Which scratching post would be suitable?”

There are no universal answers. Cats are different, and what is ideal for one may not appeal to another. For example, a cat may completely ignore a scratching post not because “that’s just how he is”, but because it is too small, uncomfortable, or placed in the wrong location.

The same applies to the litter box. It is important to take into account the cat’s character, habits, and even the type of litter.

Therefore, in each section below, I share what has worked best in my cattery and what is worth paying attention to when making a choice. However, when it comes to enclosed models — they are convenient, even very convenient, but only for people. The pet itself is unlikely to choose this option. This is obvious. And it is not only my opinion.
