A Kitten’s First Day in a New Home.
Usually, future owners eagerly look forward to the moment when they can finally bring their little kitten home. And now this long-awaited and important day has finally arrived for both sides.
🐾 On the first day, when you bring the kitten home, there is no need to take it out of the carrier immediately, and certainly not to “shake” it out.))) Simply place the carrier on the floor, open the door, and let the kitten come out on its own. This should be done in a calm environment, without unnecessary noise or other factors that could frighten the kitten.
Limit the Kitten’s Space
On the first day, it is best not to let the kitten roam freely throughout the entire home. The new environment, unfamiliar smells, and sounds can be overwhelming for a young kitten. It is better to choose one room where the kitten will stay for the first 2–5 days (the exact time depends on its personality).
Smooth Adjustment
This approach will help the kitten adjust to its new environment more easily and reduce stress. If everything is done correctly, you should not have any problems with the kitten’s litter box use, behavior, or emotional well-being.
These are just brief general recommendations. When the kitten is handed over to its new family, additional individual recommendations may be given depending on its personality and individual characteristics.
Most of our kittens adapt to their new homes very quickly.)) They usually appear calm on the outside. Nevertheless, on the first day a kitten may stay awake for a long time instead of going to sleep and give you “massages” with its paws until late at night.))))
